Students from this school were trained in mediation by Leap and have set up a very successful service.

“Hello from the peer mediation team at Lammas School and Sports College! We are Ainsley, Ephy and Yasmin and we are part of the Lammas Peer Mediation Team. Back in October, all of year 9 took part in a two-day conflict resolution course and then we were picked to do the full five-day mediator training. The course provided us with good information which helped with our social and mediation skills. It taught us mediation skills in a fun and understandable way. Since then we’ve done mediation sessions with pupils from all school year groups, leading to students successfully resolving their differences”.

The project has been so successful in fact that Lammas mediators won the 2010 PeerLink Award for resolving conflict in school! they picked up their award at the June ceremony and did a fantastic drama piece showing how they’ve made mediation work in the school.
